Seventh graders are currently studying embryology and incubation. They have learned the developmental stages of birds; the necessary environment for a bird to hatch; and the chemical make up of egg shells (including egg strength and the care needed at each stage of development.)
Students tested egg strength by stacking science books on top eggs. They also created a bungee drop to calculate the maximum distance an egg could fall without breaking.
Eighth graders have been busy building working model roller coasters to test the laws of physics, including speed, acceleration, force and kinetic energy.
