COVID-19 Information

Reopening & Coronavirus COVID-19 Information

Families, an email from the Archdiocese Office of Catholic Schools went out on Friday, October 23, regarding the district-wide decision around holiday scheduling. Please read this notification and know that we received this information at the same time, so we don’t yet have answers to some of your questions. The Office of Catholic Schools is putting all schools on remote learning immediately following the Christmas holiday through January 18th. For St. A’s, we are scheduled to return to school on Wednesday, January 6th. We will participate in remote learning from January 6th-January 15th, observe MLK Day on Monday, January 18th, and return to in person instruction on Tuesday, January 19th.

We are grateful for the support of our school community throughout these unprecedented times. I hope that if families and staff are planning to travel or gather for holiday celebrations that they will consider doing so during the Christmas holiday, when there is ample opportunity for a two-week quarantine prior to returning to the school building in January. Whatever comes our way you can trust that we are doing our best every day to be prepared and thoughtful in our approach. More information will be forthcoming from Principal McClay.

2nd Trimester Learning Options:
2nd Trimester begins on Monday, November 16th. If you wish to have your student pivot from in person learning to fully remote, or from fully remote to in person for the 2nd trimester, please notify Principal McClay by Friday, November 6th via email. If you do not intend to change your child’s learning status, there is no need to notify the school.

Cold Weather:
Please remind your child to dress appropriately for the weather each day. We will continue to hold classes and recess outside whenever possible, and entrance procedures mean students wait outside when possible.

If at any time your family finds yourself quarantined or in need of assistance in any way, the St. A’s Friends is an outreach ministry to support members of our parish and school who are in need due to illness, death of a loved one, or family stress (new baby, moving, separation, etc.). During the pandemic, the St. A’s Friends are here to provide confidential support to anyone who needs to social distance or quarantine, or if you or a family member have been diagnosed with the coronavirus. The St. A’s Friends can be reached via email at saintasfriends@gmail.com or by contacting the Parish Office at (847) 328-1430.

Please refer to the current eRED (October 23) for additional COVID information and procedures for our school. If you have any questions or concerns, please reach out to Principal McClay. Thank you.

Carol McClay, Principal
Father Hernan, Pastor
