Outreach: December Giving Opportunities
Posted on 12/01/2020
There are several giving opportunities happening at St. A’s this December:

St. A’s Canned Food Drive
Join us in the fight against hunger this Christmas season! St. A’s will be collecting shelf-stable, canned and packaged food items in the back lot at drop off and pickup this Thursday and Friday, December 3 and 4. Along with canned goods, you can also donate:
  • Birthday Kit: 1 box cake mix, 1 can frosting, 1 package birthday candles. You may also include a birthday card (place all items in a zip lock bag).
  • Pasta Kit: 1 box dried pasta, 1 large can or plastic container of pasta sauce, and 1 small container of Parmesan cheese (place all items in a zip lock bag).

St. A’s Advent Service Project – New Socks and Gloves for St. A’s Cafe
For the school’s Advent Service Project this year, we will again be supporting St. A’s Cafe, our community supported Soup Kitchen. Each year at the Christmas soup kitchen meal, each guest is given a take-home bag with a gift of wool socks, gloves, and additional gifts of warmth. St. A’s students are asked to collect adult-sized, new wool socks and gloves throughout Advent to contribute to these gift bags. Thank you for your consideration!

St. A’s Wish Baskets
Every year, St. A’s is very generous in donating to the Holiday Wish Baskets to benefit the Howard Area Community Center (HACC). This year, due to COVID-19, the structure of the program will be different because no in-kind donations will be accepted. Instead, HACC has set up a donation page where donors can purchase gift cards for those in need.

We know many of you want to direct your donation to children in need, and you can do that by selecting either the Early Childhood Education (ECE) (serves children ages 0-5) or the Youth Development (YD) (children ages 9-18) department, so that your gift card will be sent to a family participating in that department.

The deadline for purchasing gift cards is Friday, December 11.

Thank you for your continued support of the St. A’s Wish Baskets and the Howard Area Community Center. If you have any questions, please contact us at [email protected].
